TEMPORARY FACILITIES IN Rua Roberto Ivens, No. 582 MATOSINHOS

With the temporary ACA - Association HOUSE OF ARCHITECTURE is installed in the house of Rua Roberto Ivens No. 582, in Matosinhos.

The house belonged to the family of architect Alvaro Siza Vieira in 2007 and was acquired by the city of Matosinhos, with the purpose of receiving the CDAS - Documentation Centre Alvaro Siza. For protocol between the Board of Matosinhos and ACA, the CDAS is integrated in the ACA and thus begins a collaboration and mutual sharing of facilities. The construction works by the HOUSE OF ARCHITECTURE had started in January 2009 and ended on 15 June. This is the restructuring of a house built in the mid-nineteenth century and remodeled in 1961 by architect Alvaro Siza at the request of their parents. It was intended that the restructuring of the house was, where possible, faithful to the 1961 draft. Respecting the aesthetic intention of the author and always under his guidance, we proceeded to slight changes in order to make the area able to receive their new roles. It will not only functional spaces for the team, but also with file spaces and consultation, library, exhibition room, multimedia room, receiving visitors, a small shop and also a garden where it provides for various activities.

The official opening of CASA was held on June 25. On 27 opened to the public service and is available for visits during the following times:

Tuesday to Saturday: 9h30 - 12h30 and 14h30 - 18h00. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
