STATUTE OF ASSOCIATION HOUSE OF ARCHITECTURE
The Statutes of the ACA - POOL HOUSE ARCHITECTURE were approved on 1 October 2007 when the deed of incorporation of the ACA, the same date. Here is the full version in PDF and the following abbreviated version:
CHAPTER I - NAME, NATURE, PLACE AND PURPOSE
Article 1: Name, nature and duration
1. The Association adopts the name ACA - ASSOCIATION HOUSE OF ARCHITECTURE is a nonprofit, cultural, comprising the period necessary for the establishment of a Foundation, which is governed by the provisions of applicable law and this Statute.
2. The Association adopts the acronym ACA.
Article 2: Headquarters
The Association will have its headquarters at Rua Roberto Ivens, No. 582, in the parish of Matosinhos, may, by resolution of the General Assembly, be moved or transferred to another location, but shall remain forever in Matosinhos.
Article 3: Purpose
The Association is to:
a) The promotion and dissemination of architecture in the county and outside it;
b) The management of CDAS - Alvaro Siza Documentation Centre;
c) The management of capital which, in any form, is delivered to the Association;
d) The promotion and dissemination of knowledge of the estate of the Association, including the organization of courses, lectures and seminars, publications and design issues;
e) The promotion and development of leisure, cultural, tourist and social factors that contribute to a better understanding and protection of architectural heritage city, nationally and internationally;
f) The constitution, in the near future, the 'House of the Architecture Foundation'.
CHAPTER II - FOUNDERS AND ASSOCIATES - RIGHTS AND DUTIES
Article 4: Members
1. Members of the Association may be natural persons and legal persons, public or private.
2. The Association shall comprise the following categories of members:
a) Founders, those who participate in the act of incorporation of the Association;
b) Fees, those who have rendered service of great importance or contributed significantly to the achievement of the aims of the Association;
c) Aggregates, those who will join the Association after its formation.
Article 5: Admission of members
The admission of new members, except for the associated fees, shall be decided by the Board on a proposal from one or more founding members or households.
Article 6: Honorary members
1. The admission of honorary members is approved by the General Assembly a proposal from the Board;
2. The associated fees are subject to the payment of quota, enjoying this way, all the rights and are bound to the same obligations as other members.
Article 7: Rights of Members
The rights of members:
a) Participate in initiatives and activities of the Association;
b) Participate, discuss and vote at general meetings;
c) To elect and be elected or appointed, as appropriate, for the bodies;
d) submit projects to achieve the objectives of the Association;
e) To request a special session of the General Assembly;
f) Be informed of all activities of the Association;
g) To benefit from any activities or to create special advantages for the Association;
h) Members who join the Association during the period of its existence, shall be entitled to become members of the Foundation which will constitute.
Article 8: Duties of the members
The duties of the members:
a) To abide by this Statute;
b) pay, on time, the annual fee to be fixed by the General Assembly a proposal from the Board;
c) comply with the resolutions of the General Assembly and the Board;
d) take part in general meetings, accept and exercise their social positions for which they were elected or appointed, as appropriate;
e) To collaborate on initiatives and activities of the Association;
f) To honor your membership and upholding the reputation of the Association of Architecture House.
Article 9: Associated loss of quality
1. The membership is lost by:
a) Resignation of the member, communicated in writing to the Chairman of the Board;
b) For failure to pay the contribution for two consecutive years;
c) For failure to comply with other statutory obligations, and if it is determined by the General Assembly;
d) exclusion due to a serious reason and detrimental to the interests of the Association approved a proposal from the Directorate General Meeting.
2. The application of the penalty of exclusion is the responsibility of the General Assembly, at its own initiative or on a proposal from another governing body of the Association.
CHAPTER III - ORGANS OF THE ASSOCIATION
Section I: general principles
Article 10: Social bodies:
1. The Association of Social organs are the General Meeting, the Board and the Supervisory Board

1. The General Meeting consists of a President, a Vice-President and a Secretary.
2. The President of the General Assembly shall be appointed by the municipality of Matosinhos by the Mayor.

Section III: Management
Article 21: Composition
1. The Board is the board of the Association with powers of management and supervision of all activities, consisting of an odd number of members, between five and seven, which internally will elect an executive committee of three elements, as President, Treasurer and secretary.
2. The President of the Board shall be appointed by the municipality of Matosinhos through
Mayor.
3. The secretary and treasurer shall be appointed by majority decision of the founding members.
4. The remaining members shall be elected by the General Assembly.

CHAPTER IV - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ASSET
Article 30: Financial resources, revenues and expenses
1. The financial means for the normal functioning of the Association shall be provided by contributions from Members and also for any other revenues allowed by law, as part of the financing provided by the municipality of Matosinhos.

CHAPTER V - FINAL AND TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS
Article 34: Installation Committee
It created an Installation Committee of the Association, with the powers inherent in the governing bodies to deal with all the procedures necessary for the full legalization and institutionalization, and within two months, mark the Electoral Assembly of the Association, and proceed to the election of the first Bodies in accordance with the Articles of this Statute.
